Hellooo. Yaz here!
Quick update this week - development is very much picking up and things are on track for some internal app testing within the next month and a half! Overall, it’s been a fast-paced and lively time here at the Junto house.
What I’d like to share today is some footage captured during Dora, Drea and my mini journey to the Guggenheim museum in NYC. It ended up being the most awe-inspiring art exhibition I’ve witnessed in my 21 (yes, very long) years of life. Shoutout to Kelsey Ables for getting us free tickets to Hilma Af Klint’s: Paintings for the Future. Read about it here.
If you happen to pass through the city anytime soon, we recommend you check out this woman’s art. Born in Stockholm in 1862, Af Klint began creating paintings in 1906. The contemporary style she portrayed was pretty much unheard of before these spectacularly colorful and geometrically influenced pieces. The presentation at the Guggenheim was beautiful, enveloped in a fascinating story of the painter’s spiritual explorations, studies and friendships.
Here are some of our favorites from today:

Creator of the week (aka weekly demigoddess)
This week’s creative feature is the enormously talented and unique visual artist, Maya Owainati. She just released a brand new site (dripping in bada**ery) that shares many of her paintings and drawings. We’ll let some of the art speak for itself. It took a bit of a push to choose only four paintings to include below, so check out Illusion, by Maya, a powerful project, that’s just beginning.

Here’s what our team found valuable this week:
From Yaz:
I wanted to let the community know that our creator of the week feature is actually my sister! Words could never describe how unique and special this trailblazer is and I’m not just saying that cuz I’m related to her. I can honestly say she’s been the absolute largest influence in my life in terms of just gosh darn OWNING IT. Maya, you are one of the most determined, positively influencing and powerful humans I’ve ever had the pleasure of being so close to. Witness the magic as it unfolds.
From Drea:
They say the biological purpose of dreaming is to solve problems. Ok, right. Makes sense. So can we all put our heads together on this one?
I was in the back right seat of a cab, and we made a stop to pick up another person.
Tash Sultana sat down in the seat in front of me. Immediately, I knew who it was by the uniquely tinted waves in their hair and disposition. A+ dream details @ me - definitely had nothing to do with the fact that I spent my entire Monday intermittently binging every video on this youtube channel as a post-concert withdrawal coping mechanism.
Back to the cab. My first thought was, “Woah - but I caaaaannot be one of those fans who smothers artists by treating them like some kind of icon and, by consequence, ends up starving them of natural human interaction.”
So I sat there in silence, directly behind one of my role models, trying desperately to construct a one or two sentence greeting summarizing my gratitude for Tash’s carefully timed infectious explosiveness and also the mentality behind Junto (because you know when someone will be on 100% board).
But time went on and on. As it does every minute of every day.
Tick tick tick.
And suddenly our cab ride was over.
Do you ever spend so much time trying to figure out the perfect way to say something that you run out of time to actually say it?
In this fictional dream world of mine, maybe fixating so intently on the entirety of an idea wasn’t the move. After all, how could you anticipate where any conversation will end up going until you start it?
Alright, that’s all for today. I wish you all the best in your various endeavors of thought articulation this week. Thank you for putting your heads together and joining me on this journey - looking forward to many more dream dissections on Junto in the post-release days.
P.S. if anyone has any leads to getting the word out to Tash, hit ya gurl up.
Ok watch this video. C ya.
From Dora:
Adam Leipzig found that happier people know something about their life purpose because they know 5 things. Ask yourself these questions: (1) Who you are. (2) What you do. (3) Who you do it for. (4) What those people want or need and (5) how they change as a result. Adam explains [6:30mins] that this formulation is powerful because it makes one shift his or her focus from the self to giving to others. Happy people make other happy. His examples will show you that a slight change in describing what you do can shift your perception and make you more content.
We want your feedback.
