Flux #26 - Junto Demo, New Fundraising Initiatives, and More
a movement for authenticity
Happy Sunday, everyone - I hope you all are finding time to rest. Eric here with another update on what’s been happening in the Junto sphere.
Our team has been hard at work these past two months. On the outreach end, we’ve been continuing to organically grow this community, organize monthly Junto Pack calls, work on a podcast and mini magazine (whoops, spoil alert!), and host events in New York for people to connect in person. We also have several media initiatives lined up for our release that will give us a reach of over 200,000 people.
As for operations, we’re officially a New York registered nonprofit and are currently working towards obtaining 501c(4) status as a social welfare organization. This means Junto is officially independent and will be tax-exempt if we are cleared as a 501c(4). The Kickstarter and Indiegogo rewards will also be shipped out once the bracelets arrive from Bolivia in 1-2 weeks.
On top of this, Josh and I have made great headway in getting the mobile apps ready for the upcoming release. We have three months of software development and testing left before we begin onboarding our first members. You can keep track of the Holochain development here. I’ll open source the frontend in a few months.
Here’s a taste of what’s to come below. We’ll circle back in a month with another demo that will include a specification of how everything’s evolved since I wrote this piece.
Finally, we’re looking to raise another $100k between now and our first round of funding from institutional donors.
