Flux #49 - Public Communities Feature, Holochain MVP Specs, & Sponsorship Opportunities
Happy March everyone,
Eric here with a quick update on what's been happening.
First, we just shipped our Public Communities feature. If you're a community builder, we invite you to give it a run with some folks in your circles. We're committed to making this a more useful tool than what's available so feel free to reach out to me at eric@junto.foundation if you'd like to play an active role in the ongoing design process. If you're serious about growing your community on Junto, we'll also extend you a special number of beta invites - just let us know :)
This build also includes:
A new, simplified UX design for the entire app (navigation, filtering, etc.)
Crowdfunding and sponsorship badges
Titles for sharing links
1 invite/day
On the Holochain side of things, we've begun building the first decentralized version of Junto. Our Holochain MVP will include Private Communities with encrypted, decentralized group messaging. You will also be able to create sub conversations to organize your group chat (think the security of Signal meets the organizational capacity of Slack, all linked to your general social media experience and powered by the decentralization and agency Holochain provides).
To make this happen though, we need to raise at least $500k over the next few months. We believe the social space in particular can be a strong driving force behind the awareness and adoption of Holochain. If you're in a position where you can sponsor this development, we'd love to hear from you. We're accepting both fiat and crypto contributionsand have opportunities for bridge loans as well as pre-sales should we launch an ICO next year.
Finally, here's our last update in case you missed it. I shared some words on what Junto means to me and the cultural shifts I believe it can initiate.
As always, take care and see you next time,
Eric
