Flux #50 - March Roundup, Product, Fundraising, and Holochain Updates
Happy Spring everyone!
Eric here again. If you’ve been tuning in, you may have felt the movement that’s been happening around Junto and Holochain. It feels like a lot of things are coming together and personally, I’m feeling a nice resurgence of energy and inspiration. Here’s the latest round up.
Crowdfunding
First, I want to share a big thank you from myself and the team for all of your support. Since we launched our campaign this month, we’ve raised over $100k from more than 200 backers.
You all are proof that the next generation of social media can be built the right way - that this social utility can be funded, developed, and stewarded by everyone, while belonging to no one.
Let’s keep this momentum going and reach our goal of $500k by the end of May.We also have bridge loan opportunities and would love to hear from you if you’d like to make this happen with us. Feel free to let me know and we can hop on a call.
Private Beta
We’re currently building a directory for all public groups and will ship that along with several other app improvements soon. Keep an eye out for that next week. If you’re not on the app yet and would like to jump the waitlist, you can now get access within 24 hours by contributing $30 or more to our Indiegogo campaign.
Holochain
What can I say? The Holochain team has been executing and the market has been responding. The underlying Holochain framework is now stable and Holo is coming along nicely as well. Holochain was also granted a patent for their unique protocol.
The next steps to make this ecosystem thrive is for people to build useful, Holochain-powered apps (hApps). We’ve started designing and building the first decentralized version of Junto and will be shipping a desktop application within a few months. Our private communities + group messaging MVP will run fully on Holochain and will be one of the first apps to test this technology’s efficacy and scalability. We hope you’re as excited as we are :)
Again, thank you all for your ongoing support. We will continue to learn and move forward until your gifts of time, patience, and financial contributions are returned many times over to many more people.
